Michelle Dumont, AIA
Michelle is the founding principal of her Sausalito based practice and brings nearly two decades of experience designing buildings and spaces across the Bay Area and beyond. Raised in Vermont and deeply rooted in Northern California, she creates architecture that evokes belonging, elevates daily life, and responds thoughtfully to place.
Her current work centers on custom homes that are highly tailored, site-sensitive, and shaped by the unique character of both their context and the people who live in them. Michelle sees each project as a collaboration that begins by listening closely to her clients’ values, rhythms, and aspirations. Drawing from a background in projects of varied scale, she brings a holistic understanding of space, material, and craft to each design, and is passionate about select boutique hospitality, arts, and commercial projects that enrich their communities.
She holds both a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Master of Architecture from the Savannah College of Art and Design, a school internationally recognized for its focus on design and creative excellence. There, the foundation in fine art instilled a lasting sensitivity to form, color, and composition. Known for her tenacity, curiosity, and collaborative spirit, Michelle leads each project with care while mentoring the next generation of architects through a studio culture grounded in rigor, trust, and possibility.
